We have teams that are best described as Travel Basketball Teams, not AAU. While we often play and win in AAU basketball tournaments, we are not AAU sanctioned.
Our players are home grown in that they have started in our programs when they first started to show interest in basketball. Our teams are very competitive in that we will take on the challenge from anyone. Just like every program in the area, we win some and we lose some. Many of our teams win more than we lose!
Our parents are very supportive and will often help get your child to and from practice. You will also see and hear our parents support the whole team, not just their child! We believe the foundation starts at HOME!
Our Coaches come from a wide array of backgrounds and often bring a different perspective to each team. One of the best traits of each of our Coaches is that we care. The sacrifices they make, and the time commitment is extraordinary. Their value is immeasurable.
There are some set costs and some cost the depends on the team you join. We do not charge a set fee for our tournaments or games as it depends on the number of players participating that day. Our Head Coaches do not get paid directly but we pass the fee on to you through for games and practices. Families joining our travel teams can also take advantage for their families discount to our skill development programs.
Set cost:
Practice Penny - $22
Travel Uniform - $75 (currently searching for another supplier with a lower cost)
Team sweatshirt - $26 (not mandatory)
Other cost (depends on number of players on the team or participating in the actual event)
WHYS League - $65 (could be less)
WHYS Tournaments - Cost depends on players participating
Local Games - $10 to $20, based on number of kids participating
Tournaments (Rochester, Syracuse, Rome, Binghampton) - cost depends on players participating

Will Hunters basketball as well as the football program are exceptional sports involvement for young children. Mr. Hunter is a consummate professional, committed to the social and moral enhancement of our youth. It really does not get much better than this type of organization. The coaches are also committed parents who clearly share coach Hunters vision. Many of the children in the program would find it difficult to be a part of other programs that might focus more on the ability of the child. This program is totally committed to encouraging and building up the child. The esteem building that occurs is tremendous and will certainly be something that will make itself a positive marker in the life of each child. Please keep up the excellent work coach Hunter.
